White Copal – Incense Granules – 50 g

Copal resin was considered sacred by the Maya, the Aztecs and almost all the peoples of Central and South America.

These peoples would burn large quantities on top of their pyramids as offerings to the gods.

In Mesoamerican traditions, illness was attributed to evil spirits. Copal was therefore believed to have healing properties, able to cleanse all negativity, restore the integrity of the soul and elevate the worldly to the divine. When properly prepared, it was also considered capable of inducing trance states suitable for divination and rites of passage or initiation.

White copal is considered to be ruled by the Moon and Saturn and is often used in banishing rituals to drive negative energies away from people, places and objects. Its connection with the Moon makes it suitable for divination and dream divination.

Note: The resin may be light or dark, tending towards orange. This depends on the age of the plant, with lighter resin coming from younger plants. The essence and properties remain the same.

Warnings and directions: Keep out of reach of children and animals. Place the incense burner in a safe location, light the charcoal tablet and place the incense granules on it so that the smoke starts to spread and rise.
