Thyme Smudge

The smudges or shamanic incense, are made with dried aromatic herbs, and were used in ceremonies by Native Americans during the sweat lodge ritual, and to make the most of the power of protection and purification, the person or object was sprinkled with their smoke, often using a fan of feathers.

More and more often, doctors and therapists are discovering the beneficial virtues of this herb. Smudges are used by many people to connect with the power of Mother Nature. The use of burning herbs and resins probably dates back to cave times, but ceremonies aimed at purifying people, places and objects with smoke continue to this day.

How to use: Light the stick and wait until you see a flame. As soon as the top is lit you can wave it with a feather and spread the sacred smoke on objects, people and in all corners of a room, so as to clean the atmosphere everywhere. It can also be used by placing the smudge on a plate or fireproof shell.

The Indians liked to bring the four elements together for their purification rituals:water, air, earth and fire. A bowl represents the water element, herbs the earth, combustion the fire and smoke the air element. Using a shell as a bowl, bring all the elements together for a complete ritual!
