More details about the stone:

Crystal system: Trigonal
Family: Quartz
Colours: Soft light blue/lilac

Chakra: 5th – throat centre

Soul: Sound creates reality, and blue chalcedony (or blue lace agate) directs the energy of sound to manifest creation; it encourages change and creativity.

Subconscious: Represents both passive communication (listening) and active communication (expressing thoughts and feelings). It helps those so accustomed to suppressing their feelings or thoughts that they no longer know their own emotions or opinions. It neutralises red energies such as anger, infections and inflammation on a physical level.

Mental sphere: Encourages eloquence, listening and understanding of yourself and others; it supports self-realisation through the ability to communicate needs and desires to the world.

Emotional sphere: Dissolves frustration caused by an inability to express needs and ideas; frees the individual from the prison of inner silence.

Body: Blue chalcedony (or blue lace agate) helps all parts of the body that need fresh, calming energy. It supports the throat, tonsils and trachea, preventing respiratory problems; alleviates sensitivity to changes in weather; acts on hearing and balance; has an anti-inflammatory effect and lowers blood pressure; stimulates the lymphatic system, bladder and kidneys, benefiting fluid retention by balancing the thyroid and regulating bodily fluid flows; strengthens the immune system.

Other properties: May stimulate breast milk production.

Cleansing and recharging: Immerse in cold salt water for a few hours. Alternatively, use Reiki, violet flame work or rest it on an amethyst or rock crystal cluster. Sunlight (not direct) and moonlight restore its vitality. Once blue chalcedony (or blue lace agate) has given up all its energetic potential, it becomes fragile and breaks; at that point, it should be returned to nature by placing it in the sea or a watercourse.

Use: Carry it with you in a pocket or a natural-fibre pouch around your neck; wear it set in necklaces, bracelets or pendants; sleep with it inside your pillowcase. Excellent during meditation and Reiki treatments; a fundamental mineral in crystal healing.
