Myrrh is a reddish-brown resin from the Myrrha Commiphora tree. It was an integral part of sacred incense rituals in Jerusalem's sacred spaces in ancient times. There was a time when myrrh was worth more than its weight in gold. Its widespread medicinal and aromatic use in ancient cultures made myrrh a flourishing commodity for ancient civilisations.
