More about the stone

Crystallisation: trigonal system
Family: quartz
Colours: blue reflections on a black background

Chakra: 1st – root centre

Soul: Hawk's eye creates the ability to understand things from a higher perspective, helping you understand how the world works.

Subconscious: Helps overcome obstacles with determination; facilitates effortless grounding.

Mental sphere: Allows you to gain the right distance from everyday events to see the bigger picture.

Emotional sphere: Instils inner peace, helping you stay calm and oriented in difficult, complex situations; stimulates sensitivity, extrasensory perception and introspection.

Body: Hawk's eye combats stress and nervousness; relieves pain and tremors; reduces overactivity of the hormonal glands.

Cleansing and Recharging: Briefly immerse in cold salt water. Alternatively, use Reiki, the violet flame or rest it on an amethyst or clear quartz cluster. Sunlight (no direct sunlight) and moonlight baths restore its vitality. When hawk's eye has given up all its energetic potential, it will become fragile and break. At that point, it should be returned to nature by releasing it into the sea or a watercourse.

Use: Carry it with you (in a pocket or a natural-fibre pouch worn around the neck); wear it set in necklaces, bracelets or pendants; sleep with it inside your pillowcase. Excellent for meditation and Reiki treatments. It can be attached to the skin with a plaster at the 1st chakra; an essential mineral in crystal healing treatments.
