Spirit of Love White Sage Smudge Bundle with Rose Petal and Rose Quartz

Spirit of Love sage combines white sage bundles, rose petal and a tumbled rose quartz stone.

White sage grows in the United States and Mexico. This evergreen plant thrives in areas with mild winters. It has soft, woolly white foliage and pale lavender flowers. Young leaves are grey-green, becoming white as they mature.

The smoke released by these plants helps eliminate positive ions while increasing negative ions. Do not be misled by the name — positive ions are the ones harmful to our health, as they contribute to tiredness and apathy and can encourage allergies, while negative ions improve our health and mood. Negative ions are released, for example, near a waterfall or rocks by the sea.

The benefits of smudging extend beyond removing positive ions and negative energies. It promotes well-being for mind, body and spirit by helping to

• heal past traumas or negative experiences
• cleanse objects of energies they may have absorbed over the years
• create a more positive environment
• improve mood
• reduce stress, anxiety and depression
• improve concentration and attention
• cleanse the aura of negative influences

Cleansing the home also benefits our spiritual life. Indigenous peoples practised it to increase awareness. According to studies, this characteristic is attributed to thujone, a substance in white sage that becomes toxic if swallowed but helps improve intuition when inhaled. This is why healers used it to enter a more receptive state, enabling them to understand what was troubling people.
